The peer review process ensures the publication of high-quality, reliable research by filtering submissions through expert evaluation. This rigorous, objective process is crucial for maintaining the scientific integrity of the Engineering Journal: IJOER and is implemented for all submitted manuscripts.
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the Editors for content relevance and originality. A plagiarism check is conducted to ensure the manuscript's originality. In rare cases, exceptional manuscripts may be accepted at this stage. However, manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards—due to a lack of originality, significant scientific flaws, or poor language quality—are rejected. Authors of rejected manuscripts will be informed within one week of submission. Manuscripts that meet the minimum standards are forwarded to experts for peer review.
The Engineering Journal: IJOER uses a single-blind peer review process, where the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors throughout the review process. This encourages unbiased, objective feedback on the manuscript.
Reviewers are carefully selected based on their expertise in the manuscript’s subject area. The journal maintains a regularly updated database of reviewers with detailed contact information and areas of interest. This ensures that the reviewers assigned to each manuscript are knowledgeable and qualified to assess its content.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on a structured review report, considering the following criteria:
Once the evaluation is complete, the reviewer submits a report. Based on this, the authors receive a decision, including a Letter of Acceptance if the manuscript is approved. The author will then be requested to submit the copyright and registration forms.
It’s important to note that reviewers are not required to correct grammar or perform copyediting tasks. They are asked to refrain from including personal opinions on the manuscript's publication in the "Reviewer blind comments to Author" section. Instead, any such opinions should be reserved for confidential comments to the Editor.
Once the peer review reports are received, the Editor will make the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript. This decision, along with the reviewers’ comments, will be communicated to the author. The Editor’s decision is final.
For special issues and conference proceedings, different peer review processes may apply, which may involve Guest Editors or scientific committees. Authors contributing to such projects will receive specific details on the review process from the editorial office upon request.
