Engineering Journal: IJOER Article Withdrawal Policy

IJOER Article Withdrawal Policy

This page details the article withdrawal policy for the Engineering Journal: IJOER, outlining the process and conditions under which a published article may be withdrawn, removed, or replaced. The policy ensures that all actions are handled according to international ethical standards, safeguarding the integrity of the journal’s publications.

IJOER Article Withdrawal Policy

The Engineering Journal: IJOER upholds the highest standards of scholarly integrity in publishing peer-reviewed research in Engineering and Science. In rare cases, it may be necessary to withdraw, remove, or replace a published article due to errors or legal concerns. This page outlines the policies and procedures for such actions, ensuring they are managed in accordance with international best practices, protecting the journal’s commitment to accuracy and ethical standards.

The editorial board is responsible for deciding which articles will be published based on journal policies and legal requirements like copyright and plagiarism rules. Once an article is published, it becomes a permanent part of the journal's history. It is very important to keep the published articles unchanged and accurate. However, in rare cases, an article may need to be retracted (removed) or corrected. Such actions are only taken under exceptional circumstances. Even if an article is removed, our official records will be stored in the National Library of IJOER.

We follow best practices in scholarly publishing and review our policies regularly to stay updated with international standards.

Article Withdrawal Process:

An article can only be withdrawn from the journal’s database under very specific conditions:

  • Articles that represent early versions or contain errors, or articles accidentally submitted more than once, can be withdrawn.
  • Withdrawing an article means its PDF and HTML versions will be removed from the journal's database. However, the journal and the publisher are not responsible for versions that remain in other cached locations.
  • Once an article is withdrawn, it cannot be resubmitted for publication in the journal.
  • The corresponding author must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from all the co-authors to withdraw an article.
  • Withdrawal Charges: USD 150.

Article Removal: Legal Reasons

In rare cases, an article may need to be removed for legal reasons. This happens when an article:

  • Contains defamatory content
  • Infringes on someone’s legal rights
  • Is subject to a court order
  • Poses a serious health risk if followed

In such cases, the article will be removed, but the metadata (title and authors) will remain visible. A notice will replace the text, indicating that the article was removed for legal reasons.

Article Replacement:

Authors can retract an article and replace it with a corrected version if the published article:

  • Poses a serious health risk
  • Violates international publishing standards
  • Charges of Replacement/Correction: USD 150.

The retraction process will include a notice linking to the corrected version and a history of the changes made.

Final Decisions: All decisions regarding the withdrawal, retraction, removal, or replacement of an article are made by the Chief Editor, Managing Editor, or other journal bodies. Authors may provide suggestions, which will be considered, but the final decision rests with the journal.
