Our mission is to provide a space for experts in Engineering Research and Science to share their systematic findings and contribute to the advancement of knowledge. IJOER is committed to supporting both seasoned professionals and emerging scholars, offering opportunities for sharing research outcomes that can make a real-world impact.
Editorial, Reviewer, and Advisory Panels:
1. Editorial Board:
The Editorial Board is responsible for overseeing the journal's publication process, ensuring that all articles meet the journal's standards for quality and relevance. Members of this board play a key role in making final publication decisions and guiding the journal's strategic direction.
2. Reviewer Board:
The Reviewer Board consists of experts who provide critical evaluations of submitted manuscripts. Their role is to assess the originality, significance, and technical merit of each article, ensuring that only high-quality research is published. Reviewers contribute their expertise to uphold the integrity of the peer-review process.
3. Advisory Board:
The Advisory Board offers strategic guidance and insight into emerging trends in engineering research. Members of this panel may provide valuable recommendations for improving the journal’s focus and outreach, helping to ensure that IJOER remains a leading platform for innovative research.
Becoming an Member at IJOER:
If you aspire to join the board members profile, there are two primary pathways:
- Direct Invitation: You may be invited by the publisher due to your expertise in a specific field or discipline, particularly when launching a new journal or expanding board members capacity.
- Membership Application: Alternatively, you can apply by submitting the Membership Form, which is completely free. Applications are evaluated by our board members profile.
Criteria for an Board Members Position:
To be considered for an board member profile, candidates typically need to meet the following requirements:
- A Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
- Expertise and experience in the journal’s subject matter.
- A proven publication record of research articles and/or books related to the field.
- Experience as a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals.
- Commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities of an editor, recognizing the dedication and work involved in the role.
Members Responsibilities
- Fairness and Independence: Members must assess submitted articles based solely on their academic merit—including the originality, significance, clarity, and alignment with the journal’s aims—without bias toward the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political views, or institutional affiliations. Editorial decisions are made independently, free from outside influence, including government or funding agency policies. The Editor-in-Chief holds full authority over the journal’s editorial content and publication schedule.
- Confidentiality: Editors and the editorial staff are required to maintain confidentiality regarding any information related to submitted manuscripts. Information may only be disclosed to individuals directly involved in the editorial process, including the Editor-in-Chief, reviewers, potential reviewers, and publisher as necessary.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editorial board members must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the explicit written consent of the authors. Privileged information obtained through the editorial process must remain confidential and not be used for personal gain. Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest, such as personal, professional, or financial ties with any of the authors, companies, or institutions involved.
- Publication Decisions: The editorial board ensures that all submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process, typically reviewed by at least two independent experts in the field. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for making final decisions on publication based on the reviewers' evaluations, the manuscript’s relevance, and its potential contribution to the field. Legal considerations such as copyright infringement, plagiarism, and defamation are also taken into account.
- Ethical Considerations and Investigations: Editorial board members are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical publishing. In collaboration with the publisher, they will investigate any ethical concerns raised regarding a submitted or published article. Following the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, the editorial board will take appropriate action if unethical behavior is confirmed. This may include publishing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as necessary.
